Potato cake with marinara sauce

Potato cake with marinara sauce - it's perfect for any time of the day, whether you need a breakfast, lunch or dinner. All you need for this potato cake are white potatoes, paprika, salt, pepper, and oil. That’s all.

Using the same recipe, you can make small patties, served with a fresh salad, and mustard sauce.

Portions: 2

Preparation time: 10 minutes

Cooking time: 15 minutes

Ingredients for the potato cake:

  • 2 large white potatoes

  • Salt, pepper to taste

  • 1/2 teaspoon sweet paprika

  • Oil for frying

Ingredients for the sos:

  • 1 diced tomato

  • 2 tablespoons of tomato paste

  • half a teaspoon of dried basil

  • 1 teaspoon olive oil

  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt and pepper

  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar

Method:

  1. Grate the potatoes, squeeze out the water well and then add the spices - salt, pepper and paprika.

  2. Add a little oil in a pan and let it heat up on medium heat.

  3. Spread the grated potato over the entire surface of the pan and let it cook on medium heat until the edges start to brown.

  4. I flipped the cake using the plate method. Put a large plate face up on the pan, turn the pan over the plate. After I just let the cake slide from the plate into the pan on the undone side, let it cook for about 5 minutes on medium to low heat.

  5. For the sauce, put all the ingredients in a small container and blend them with a vertical blender until it turns into a creamy sauce.
